The book is divided into four chapters: Classic Beauty, Extra Light, Raw Edges and All so Bright. It's contains high quality photographs of Scandinavian homes, architecture, interiors, furniture and product design. I especially like to read the interviews with graphic designer Tanja Vibe, interior architect Joanna Laajisto, product designers Andreas Engesvik and Clara von Zweigbergk and architectural office Tyin Tegnestue Architects based in Trondheim, Norway.
Northern Delights reveals why hardly any other interior of product design is so timeless, so functional, so aesthetic and of such high quality as that of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark (Northern Delights - Gestalten)
In short, a book you should not miss. I purchased mine at Gestalten.
What are you reading this weekend? Enjoy!

Don't get me wrong, I love the digital world and I'm addicted to Pinterest. But nothing beats an old-fashioned paper moodboard on my wall. It all started years ago when I did the styling academy in Amsterdam. I sat for hours with a pile of magazines to find the perfect image. Despite all the great digital possibilities I can not resist to buy beautiful interior, lifestyle, art and fashion magazines. I tear off the beautiful pages and keep them in a folder.
You just need a blanc wall in order to create your own world of fantasy.

I was thinking of printing one of my black&white photographs in a large format. One major element instead of a lot of small images. When I see these new prints by House Doctor I definitly should try it, they are wonderful! There are three different images and sizes: Office, All Ceramic and All Glass. Beautiful standing on the floor as well as hanging.

In the latest issue of Llamas' Valley I read an interview with ceramic artist Caroline Swift. She studied industrial design in Scotland, worked as a knitwear designer at Benetton and now lives in Barcelona. The wonderful pictures of her work immediately drew my attention. It's handmade, pure, delicate and white. The combination of the fragile bone china creations displayed on concrete is gorgeous. Caroline about her work: "all of my Nordic nature is hidden in my pieces. The combination of winter landscapes reflected in my work and sunny surroundings in real life makes me happy".
Llamas’ Valley is an interactive ipad magazine about perfect places and imperfect people. It’s about inspiration, creative ones, joy and delicious life.
