My Home Office

August 2, 2012

An old iron French cabinet - once used as a postal sorting unit - is the basis of a creative home office in the corner of the living room. I bought it at a local second-hand interior store in my hometown. The cabinet consists of two parts. The upper part has 25 compartments which offers a lot of space to organize and storage mail, photos, magazines, and [note]books. It also displays my vintage cameras collection. The lower part is the desktop. Sometimes a bit too small, but it works well.

The old Jielde lamp has a grey, corrosion look with paint plashes. It comes from the same store as the iron cabinet. I think they go well together and I love the industrial look combined with our bright - Scandinavian inspired - interior.

At the left of the cabinet the white wall provides enough space to create and display my mood boards. It also works as a memory wall to save notes and inspiring thoughts. The picture frame is an old wooden frame, still in primer white. It displays different prints, quotes or photos and the frame color changes regularly.

Now I felt like black&white to add some tranquility into busy days..
