Today I am blogging live from Design City at the Woonbeurs Amsterdam. It's great to see and meet my readers and fellow bloggers. And again, so much to share with you..
But first the new design of Piet Hein Eek: I loved their cafe and presentation!

The house of Ariadne at Home stands out with its many whites. White with a touch of soft pink and bright red. When you take a closer look, beautiful details and structures emerge!

Every room I visit feels like stepping into a new world. A bold mix of colors, materials, textiles, patterns, shapes and styles. A home with contrasts: new and re-used, modern versus classic, industrial and female. I love this playful, artistic home of Dutch interior magazine 101 Woonideeëen!

Last friday I was in Amsterdam for a visit to Inside Design Amsterdam 2012. This design and interior event is organized by Dutch magazine Elle Decoration: three days filled with living, design, art and architecture.
For me, the highlight of Inside Design was Brunklaus Amsterdam. Brunklaus was founded in 1992 by Dutch interior designer Nicolette Brunklaus. The exhibition showed a beautiful mix of Brunklaus design and Holmegaard Glass from Denmark. Nicolette manipulates her own photograhps and creates printed textiles, lighting objects and small furniture. A few collection themes are Abstract, Dried Flowers and The Shady Tree. The last one is a classic and still my number one: the forest and it's magic shades..
It was great to visit the Brunklaus studio, to be inspired and see the products in real. I left Amsterdam with a wonderful tin cup and top lid with red duo-tone print. Great for tea and cookies!
Lisa Congdon is an illustrator, fine artist and collector from San Francisco. You probably already know her from her Collection a Day project. I'm a big fan of her work: the vivid colors, the details, the traditional theme and her creativity. She inspired me to start my 365 photography project Visual Story 2012.
This year Lisa started a new 365 project called 365 Days of Hand Lettering: every day a new beautiful letter of the alphabet, word, phrase or quote. The above illustrations are made during her Nordic Adventure. Lisa meets Scandinavia and it looks great. You can read about the project and travel on her blog Today is going to be awesome.
The font I occasionally use on my blog and in my pictures is one of Lisa Congdon's hand lettering turned into a font. It's called Petit Lisa. I use it for a more creative look on my blog.
.. I have spent a lot of time in Amsterdam. For photography, fun and fresh inspiration for my home and blog. A few of my favorites in Instagram:
And last but not least.. we have celebrated my daughters fourteenth birthday!
"Your support can help save the earth. The Giving Tree is a sticky memo pad that is shaped as the trunk of a tree. It is playful showing the essence of paper as it is. As the memo pad is used, the trunk of the tree will gradually disappear. Sending messages of the effects of wasting paper. So the more it is used, the more trees will disappear. The Giving Tree will be donating part of their proceeds to planting trees".
Love this concept and design by Chang Bong Heo via Lufdesign.

This morning I was looking for new images on Pinterest for my pinboard Dear Deer when I found.. Dear Deer. Designed by Walking Chair Design Studio in Austria.
Dear Deer is an wooden ornament for your vegetarian outdoor hunting experience. Watch out for two perfect branches of flowers. Choose the right moment to hunt the branch down and attach them to Dear Deer. Display Dear Deer in your home and impress your fellows with the trophy..
Really like the manual description and the humorous side of this design.

Dutch Living Event 2012
This year the Woonbeurs Amsterdam is extra special for two reasons. First, the Woonbeurs is celebrating it's 20th edition. Second, during the biggest Dutch Living Event I'll be live blogging on Sunday September 30!
For one day my beeldSTEIL Blog Room will move to the Design City area at the Woonbeurs Living Event. If you've got any questions about styling, interior, photography or blogging. Come and have a chat!
For my readers outside The Netherlands, keep an eye on beeldSTEIL for news and photos.
Yesterday the postman made me happy with a package from the United States. Inside where two Tokyo Dreamer straps together with a funny tiny turquoise stow-away-asaurus from the Photojojo Store.
My straps are in Sky Blue and Chocolate Brown. Lined with soft vegan leather and a removable pouch. The pouch has enough space to storage a battery or old-time film. The Sky Blue strap suits well with my new Leica, the Chocolate Brown looks good with the vintage Agfa Silette.
Dreaming my life away...
